Ideas for Parents

These activity suggestions expand on the concepts presented in the podcast, and will have you talking, laughing, and growing together after the video ends.

Watch the Podcast Together

Watch the podcast together with your child. When you encounter similar vocabulary words and situations in your daily environment, point them out until he or she notices them also. Talk about them together.

Watch the Podcast Together

Get your child talking! Through conversation, your child develops language skills and learns new words. After your child watches each podcast episode, ask him or her what happened and what parts he or she liked best.

Access older episodes

New Sesame Street podcast episodes will be available every
week! You can always access older episodes of the podcast
by subscribing through iTunes or another RSS reader.

A Great Way to Pass the Time

Waiting in line at the bank, post office, or restaurant can be difficult for even a patient child. Sesame Street podcasts can be a fun and educational way to pass the time!

Make Up a Story

After your child watches the Sesame Street podcast, ask your child to make up a story about what one of the characters might have done next after the segment ended.

Sing a Song

Singing songs is a great way for your child to learn rhythm and language. Ask your child if there were any songs in this week's episode, and ask him or her to sing part of it out loud. If there wasn't a song this week, you could make up a song based on key words or themes from the episode.

Watch Videos on Your Computer

You don't have to have an iPod to enjoy Sesame Street podcasts! Each episode can be downloaded and viewed right on your computer.
